Abstract: The mass production of FBE coating for the ultra large-sized steel water pipe is still rare，and likely， relevant coating inspection standards are not yet complete. An analysis is conducted on the powder coating method and process for the said water pipe，and the current status of the coating inspection standards，and the key performance indexes of the product are discussed. The results indicate that the outer surface coating for the ultra large sized steel water pipe is suitable for using the electrostatic spraying process，while the inner surface coating is suitable for using the air spraying or roller coating process. The preferred combination process is the internal air spraying + external electrostatic spraying or the internal roller coating + the external electrostatic spraying to get the result of one-time heating and outerinner surface coating of the pipe. Based on relevant existing coating standards，the professional coating standard as per the specific characteristics of the product is prepared in a bid to further ensure the product performance.
