Abstract: Described here in the paper is the operation situation of the domestic steel tube industry since the the year of 2024. Also reviewed are the achievements as made by the steel tube-making enterprises in 2024 and the period from January to March in 2025，involving such aspects as production and marketing，product and technology innovations，quality improvement and standard formulation（revision），green development and energy-saving & consumption reduction，transformations to digitalization and intelligence，newly-conducted projects and technical revamp，etc. The currently existing pain points of the steel tube industry are identified，including imbalance between supply and demand，low profit margin，low concentration level，serious involution，and lack of effective self-discipline mechanism and so on. Accordingly the key points of present development of the steel tube industry are pointed out，i.e.，implementing the regulatory measurements for crude steel output，strengthening the self-discipline of the industry，and development of the small and medium enterprises following the direction of Specialization，Proficiency，Specialty and Newness，continuously and deepening the activities of tapping potential as per relevant standards，and deeply and earnestly promoting the digitalization transformation of the steel tube industry.
