Considerations Involving Technical Prospect of Baosteel 5m Wide-heavy Plate Mill Based on Development Trend of Petroleum and Natural Gas Industry

Elaborated are the worldwide development trend of using long-distance pipe lines for "crude gas" transport and the trend of development of tubulars in high steel grades. It is proposed that for construction of the Baosteel 5m wide-heavy plate mill, the said technical prospect be taken into consideration. In addition, specific suggestions are put forward, involving such aspects as metallurgy, continuous casting and steel rolling.
