  • The NDT inspection is regarded as a critical part of manufacture of hi-pressure boiler pipes.Elaborated in the article is the application of the eddy-current detection technique to the said manufacturing process.Analyzed are the elements responsible for erroneous flaw evaluation during the eddy-current detection operation,including the concentricity of the NDT equipment,quality of the reference specimens and the performance of the detecting coil,etc.Accordingly,some methods for reducing the error rate are proposed.
